Hey all, just found out about this whole CRH thing, figured I'd give it a try. Had always had an interest in coins, kept wheat pennies as a kid, grand parents would give me those lil plastic sets of coins, did the state quarter thing, but recently got out of it a little. Would keep a wheat penny or bicentennial quarter if I found it with change or something, friend had even gotten an old indian head penny in his change, gave it to me since he knew I'd appreciate it. Was going through my spare change the other day, and had a LOT of pennies, so started sorting them by date, mint mark. By the time I finished I realized I had quite a few, and with time on my hand, figured look into collecting again. Found out about coin roll hunting, so when I deposited all my change, I got 8 rolls of pennies for the hell of it.

I had little expectations, was hoping for a single wheat penny out of all of those. In those 8 rolls, I found a few of the 2009 variations which I had vaguely recalled, 3 canadian pennies which I was somewhat surprised to find, and also the one wheat penny I was hoping for, which happened to be a 1941. I also found this beauty: Coin1.webpcoin2.webp

Needless to say, I am hooked. Consolidated my existing coin collection with the ones I had sorted and my break finds, and cannot wait to exchange some more coins for more rolls. Not naive enough to expect a find like this every time, but one hell of a way to start I figure.

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Rosco53! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

2nd - Fantastic finds - love those Indians! Thanks for sharing...

Hey Rosco53, welcome to TNet! That’s a nice IHC, especially first time CRH! It beats my 1903 Indian which I just found a couple of days ago. Congratulations!

Welcome aboard and congrats on that very nice IHP!

Welcome to Treasurenet and the CRHing forum. That 1888 is in nice shape for a 130 year old coin.

Thanks! And yeah, definitely, I was quite amazed at it. I just love to think of all the people that have had it and places it has been prior to ending up in my collection...

Not bad, not bad at all. Most of us go through boxes & boxes of cents before finding an IH. CONGRATS & welcome to the TN forum and CRH.
