First Silver Coin for 2008

I finally took the opportunity to get out with Swampfox today. We went to a lot with a house that was probably built back in the 1930’s. Right off we started finding wheats that dated back to 1937. I ended up with 6 wheats , 3 clad quarters, 2 dimes, 2 zinc pennies….and then I hit the silver. It was down at about 6”. Was sure glad to see that shiny coin in the hole. The last thing I found was the top half of a zippo lighter with someone’s name etched in it. Can’t quite make out the name..but the weather was great and the ground was soft. HH all.

Sounds like a nice place to hunt.

The barbers are probably down just another inch or two. Once you get all the wheats and mercs out then you really find the old ones

Hi Randy:

I am glad that you were able to get out and do some hunting. As you may know we have a nice storm right now dumping snow and ice with no choice of doing any detecting. We will have to connect sometime this summer and do some hunting together.
