I was very excited today! Had recently recieved the Minelab Pro Find pinpointer and wanted to test it out. So me and my stepson went out for a quick 10 minute dig. Found a few nails and some various small pieces of metal junk in the back yard of an old house. Thought we would move to the front to have better luck. I started swinging in the narrow section between the walkway and the house when I got a nice solid hit with the F2. Dug a small plug and brought out the Pro Find to use. It was no time when it started to sing...just pushed a little dirt out of the way and I could see the "roundness"...LOL
I had my stepson pull it out and see what it was...1946 silver Rosie! The first silver coin I've ever dug!!!

Thanks for looking!

Big Congrats On Your First Silver! There is nothing else like that first one! It is a great looking Rosie and you will never forget it! :icon_thumright:

Silver looks so good coming out of the ground. A very exciting feeling.

Yes it does! At first glance I just thought it was a very recent coin due to the color...until I took a closer look. Not bad for only about 10 minutes!!

You'll be chasing that rush forever now :))))
congrats!!!

Hey there frogginfish, I was two years old when that coin was minted and knew nothing about detecting then. When I was a little older I used to find all sorts of coins on the ground, I spent them all as well (I still knew nothing about coins or detecting). I spent a lot of good coins, makes me shake my head!

Congrats on the Rosie and may many more unique older coins find their way under your coil!....................63bkpkr

Many more to come, im sure! :)

Thanks 63bkpkr! Its hard telling the stuff people have taken for granted over the years and not realized the full potential of the worth of an object until it was too late!
