Off to a great start getting a 90% and Franklin on Day 2!!!

Congrats

I found two 40%ers at the bank this afternoon. I don't pick up my box until Friday.

Well. Did 4 of the 8 boxes I usually get. Found 6 more 40%ers.

Have 3 more boxes on hand. Will pick up #8 on Friday.

Very good way to start the new year.

Novapax.

nice! i just found a 1964-d and a 1967 in a box

Finished up boxes 5,6, and 7. One more box of halves to pick up. Then on to dimes. 8 boxes awaits me.

So my numbers stand for now.

Not a bad day for stop and grab silver.

First 2 boxes netted me a lone '69. Still, better than getting skunked.

Ever wonder what it would have been like 10 years ago? You may have walked out with a dozen 40%ers.

Gee I wish I could go back in time.

My dad was CRH in the 80s.. you should see the stuff he found.. Unreal.. I would pee my pants if I found a box that was "average" in his day...

I hope we get to do it for another 10 years. HH, Maverick.

Yep. If I could go back in time I would. When gold was super cheap an silver was practically free. I'd have a semi truck trailer full. LoL

It's sure fun to dream.

Yeah, I did some research yesterday, wondering what it would have been like had I CRH in college, about 10 years ago. At that time, silver was down quite low, about $5/ozt, with a 40% being worth maybe 80 cents. Bear in mind, that's the same price it was worth in 1984, when I was a teller. So even if you had known about them, you most likely wouldn't have hoarded them like we do now. When silver's at $5/ozt for decades, you really don't expect it to go higher, and saving coins with a face value of 50 cents that are only worth 80 cents is not good business sense. I sold all my silver back in the 80's, when I needed the money. About the only things I kept from my teller days were the error coins and the foreign coins, some of which turned out to have silver in them fortunately.

My father actually did hoard them.. He sold all of his finds during the huge spike a couple years ago and boy oh boy did he make out like a bandit..
