First Silver Of 2009
Got out today even though I am feeling under the weather. It was a nice day and I decided to rough it for a hour or two. Went to a old hay field that back in the 40s and 50s was a boyscout camp. Now there is nothing there besides hay. I only go to this place in the begining of the year when the hay is compacted. No one cuts it so once it dries and stands thats it for the year. But over the last 3 years I have pulled over 65 Silver coins, 20 Rings, And a few dozen other relics like silver medals, spoons, etc.. Well today I went and I got a 1942 S Merc dime wich was a terrible hit and as I dug the hit dissapiered but I kept at it anyway because I have had that happen before. Well at about 11" I found the target. I also found a small silver ring, a junk ring, and a real nice muskett ball..(I have found a few Rev. War buttons in this field as well so the muskett ball may be from around that time...)Anyway this is my 2nd time out for 09 and my first silver of the year.
