Went after work for some first of the year digging. Got permission from property owner but was asked to locate their property markers first, which I gladly obliged. I did locate the marker after finding a horseshoe a few feet away and it was over a foot down!
After that I concentrated my attention around a big maple tree by the house.
Got a solid 91-92 on the AT Pro and around 3 to 4 inches down. Dug the plug, had a big root to contend with but quickly saw the silver rim! I was super excited! I knew it was a half. Finally worked it out and after a gentle wipe, I saw the walker... and the 1944! Haven't found a half in over a year!!
Not just 5 feet away from that I scratchy quarter signal 4 inches in depth. Dug the plug and not only found the 1943 Washington, but there were companions with him. Four wheaties!
The horseshoe definitely brought good luck!
Not far from the quarter find, and next to the drive way, I dug the huge token. It's from an old car dealership from the 50s that had burnt down...and I was told there was a 1953 Corvette inside the dealership when it went up in flames.
Thanks for looking everyone and happy hunting!!
