My father and I went for a four hour hunt today. For the first hour or so we did not find anything, so we moved to another corner of the field. My first hole yielded a 1825 Capped Bust Dime, my first old dime, and my first silver for the year. Directly after I dug the dime I got another signal near it and dug a 1772 King George the III Half Penny. There are still so many more signals at this area that we did not have time to dig. We only hit one side of the foundation, and lightly at that. The history books show a revolutionary war encampment in the area, and it is directly on the crown point road so I think we have found it. We pulled up around 6 Tombac buttons as well.

You and your Dad found some nice stuff! Thanks for sharing...

Very cool that you get to hunt with your dad! Congrats on the awesome Capped dime- quite the first silver of the year, especially one where they only made 510K!
