Hello all!
I was swinging the Vaquero at a local school. It was pretty cool as there was an older couple (he was 78!) already swinging when I got there. They had been detecting for 30 years and had some great stories of their finds over the years. Anyway, I was digging a couple dimes and pennies at 8", so I figured I would try the Compadre and go for some of the shallower targets (or maybe find a gold chain, lol). Soon after, I got a solid hit that still beeped after thumbing the disc up to almost max. About 4" down I found the silver "castle" charm on the bottom right. i only covered a small section of the grass in front of the school, so i'm definitely gonna go back and find that gold! I'm really impressed with the discrimination of the Compadre, I was able to really see how great it is, especially after trying it back to back with the Vaq. Scott

nice, gotta love the silver. and always nice to chat with a fellow detectorist - esp. a seasoned one.

Good score on the silver....don't know the age of your school but I've been hitting one for the 1920's and pulled out 3 gold rings and 1 gold charm....it's pretty empty by now but managed a lot of goodies at that site.
