Great find!!! Under an old swingset?

Nice Quarter!!!

Hi,
That penny find is mystifying. Will you tell us what sort of area you were hunting? What was the newest date? It's hard to imagine them not being seen before getting covered. I cant imagine anyone carrying that many pennies let alone losing them. I would really like to know the story behind the loss. Nice find on the quarter. Thanks for your post, It will have me thinking for a while.

The most pennies I had found in one small spot was like 30 or 40 beside a telephone pole in the lawn of a recreation area. I figure a kid put them by the pole so as not to lose them and forgot about them.......GRiley.

I was at an old fairgrounds/ where they hold a few festivals still. The deepest penny was prolly 6inches most wrre about 4 I dug about 4plugs with anywhere from 20-60 pennies per plug. I had to walk away from that area because I got tired of digging pennies. The further out of got i found one or 2 here or there. My guess is a drawer got tipped over at a fair. And they grabbed all the silver coins. And just left the penny's lol.

The newest date was 1982 oldest was 1959

I just recently got a new machine and i plan on going back in a couple weeks actually. I barely covered any of the area so I'm excited to cover more of it. I found a 52 quarter there has to be more silver somewhere lol
