Introduced a friend to detecting today. His grandmother allowed us to detect her yard located in town. I used my AT Pro and he used my BH LAND RANGER PRO. At the beginning of our hunt I dug a few pieces of aluminum where the gutter and siding had been remodeled on the home. After digging a few of this junk I started skipping these reading thinking it was more aluminum. Then my friend comes along behind me and 2nd hole he has ever dug in his life finds a 1963 Washington quarter. Not gonna lie I was jealouse. I've been detecting for months now and I skipped over my first silver and gave it to a newbie. So the day goes on I find 11 cents in clad pennies. Then a 1939 nickle. Tons of pieces of aluminum then finally a hole with more aluminum. I find the aluminum then double check my hole and I have anouther signal. More digging and out pops a 1952 Roosevelt dime. MY FIRST EVER SILVER! I go on to find a 1948 wheat, glass marble, old horse shoe, and an old army unit crest. My friend finds an old copper makeup case and a glass marble. The best part of the dig is we barely touched the yard and my friend called me at work asking me to price an AT PRO I'm sure I have a new digging partner. Here are pictures of today's finds if anyone has info on the unit crest i would appreciate it.
