I got out Saturday and Sunday this weekend and made some nice recoveries. First a solo hunt on Saturday where I scored my first Spanish silver of the year thus keeping my nine year streak of finding at least one Spanish silver intact. This one a 1772 half real, Mexico City mint. I also got a 1902 IHP and a couple buttons.

Sunday a buddy and I made a short drive down to Maryland to follow up on some research we collaborated on. On the way down I told him this is either gonna be a payday or a bust. I ended up with 11 buttons, and pretty decent 1740s King George II copper, a 1955 Belgian 20 centimes, a knob to a cabinet or drawer, and a mystery heavy round brass piece with a threaded hole.

Here's the coins and buttons from the weekend
4-6 and 7-19 all.webp

Nice to see these two guys again

I want to say 1743 for the KGii but that’s maybe just my eyes playing tricks. Great year reale - I like to envision that being carried around by a rev war soldier. Way to go Steve!

First of many....

Congrats on the nice hunt! :occasion14:

1772 is the first year of the portrait style Spanish silver and could easily have been handled by a Rev War soldier while it was in circulation.

Nice finds Steve. The KG II is a beauty along with the half Real. Congrats

Nice details on the KG and Reale. Very successful weekend, no hunting for me, at a Tradeshow for the last 4 days.... aaaarghhh. Congrats!

I think April has historically been my most productive month. You don't want to waste any days in April!!

Well well well....look who’s adding more Spanish to an already massive collection. Way to go bud!

That copper is in great condition! Excellent finds!

You have hit it out of the park, Steve. A big congrats.

Old copper and silver in one day, Is a day to remember:occasion14:

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

You guys out east are in detector heaven. It's rough here in fly-over country but your east coast finds keep me going. Gary

Thanks Abe, this one bumps me up to 70 Spanish, but at this rate I'll never break 100 unless I move to Southeast VA :laughing7:

Thanks Gary, Those guys in New Jersey, New England, SC and VA make us here in SW PA feel the same way.

Awesome finds! Congrats!!
Thanks SM
