Metal Detecting
Today was warmer than usual, so I decided to hike in the woods around my college and enjoy the scenery. Of course, my metal detector came along for the venture. My day was pretty pedestrian up until my last find; simply a handful of clad until then.

Suddenly, I picked up a standard penny reading (76 on the vdi). So of course I went for it, and surely enough it was a cent. However, this cent was no penny... It was a large cent dating back to 1827! Sadly it is very worn down, but lady liberty's crown is still very visible, as is her profile!

1827 cent among the clad -- I would've hollared with glee! Congrats on a good find. She's seen a lot of wear in her 185 years, but you brought her to light! HH Andi
