First time out

Hi all new to the boards and to metal detecting. Am originally from Buffalo NY but my job keeps me roaming around the country. I am currently staying in Whippany NJ and got out to try my first hunt. I tried Belmar beach and loved it. found 2 dimes 2 nickels and 1 1956 wheat penny and a few pull tabs. was a bit crowded as I saw 6 other people detecting also but I guess the nice weather brings out everyone.

That is a good day at the beach in the winter. congrats! I went to sea isle and got 2 quarters, and a few pennies.

I have not hunted it but there is some broadwalk repairs/replacements going on down in Belmar. After the workers pull the sand out from under the old boardwalk and spread it on the beach give it a scan. There will be other people detecting it but that is were the older coins will be.
