Well I finally had a day to start my detecting. I had three target properties. One a late 1700's stone house, an old 1800's church and a local park.. the church had been searched before but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. My friend Alvin obviously did a thorough job as I only found one 1918 Lincoln penny. The local park was better. In an hour my daughter and I found 11 Canadian pennies; all recent, 3 recent quarters, two Canadian dimes and one American dime. With only an hour left we went to the old house and in 25 minutes we found an old brass buckle 3 hand made nails and a silver plated pocket watch cover then the rain set in. I can't wait to get back there. There is 3 acres of virgin property just waiting for me. Can't wait to find some old coins there. I'll keep you all posted.....
