First time panning for gold!

Hey all!
I just got some gold bearing paydirt and I panned it out and got some sweet gold. I know paydirt is not an investment but it is worth the loss in fun had. Please let me know how I can improve my panning technique or what other equipment I should get my hands on. Thank you!
