First time poster and my "EUREEEEEKAA!!" moment yesterday
hey folks,
I found this site linked from a forum i regularly check out, http://www.goldismoney.info.(GREAT forum, btw) I believe RiverRat (TN member) posted the link.
It prompted me to fulfill my boyhood fantasy of getting a detector and go diggin' for that TREASURE!
I went to a mom & pop sporting store that i had seen some white's detectors at and picked up a whites prizm II for $205 cash out the door. That little bugger has been serving me well over the past month and a half. I've spent damn near every one of my days off from work out hunting. My fiance has even been bitten by the "TREASURE!!!"(as we call it) bug and we have been enjoying lots of quality time together while out wondering around.
In the six weeks I've had my prizm, My clad change finds have almost paid for the detector and then some!!! not to mention the countless doodads and whatsits that are almost as exciting to find as change.
I thought I was pretty darn addicted to this hobby, until yesterday.
I was hunting a tucked away old picnic site in my town in northern alabama. perfect weather, nice cool breeze, loving life. I got a solid nickel tone and stooped down to flick another routine nickel or pulltab out of the ground. The 4" plug i cut was nice and perfect(everyday I can tell my digging skills are improving). I plopped the plug over grass side down and what do you know..........the unmistakeable color of GOLD!!!. just sittin' there on top of the plug like a cherry on a sundae.
It was a decent size mans wedding band, alright weight to it. marked 14k. and a superb deep yellow lustre.

MAAAAAN what a rush. This is the coolest damn hobby ever!!!!!!!!
got the ring home after finding about 5 bucks more in clad. cleaned 'er up and wieghed it in at 5.4 grams... which works out to be $65.80ish at todays spot. WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! I'm RICH!!!!! ( well, it sure feels that way when you pull something like that outta the ground for hardly any effort at all)
Hi my name is mike and I'm now a FULL BLOWN official detecting addict!,
thanks folks!, ...to many more gold finds!!!!!!,
DidgMike
