First time roll hunting

Well after reading all the posts on here about roll hunting, I thought I'd give it a try. I went to a couple of diffenent banks & bought $460.00 in halves, $130.00 in dimes & $20.00 in nickles!



I found 5-40% silver halves, a 65, 3-67's & 1-68. I also found 5 2001 P's which were not issued for circulation & 1 2003 P also not for circulation.

Maybe someone can tell me what those might be worth.

I found nothing in the dimes

In the nickles I found 1 silver 1943 P, & 4 other pre 1960. I didn't think that was so bad for a first time out!

I like seeing those hand rolled halves. They always have the best chance for having more silver than the machine rolled ones. I got 2 boxes today and 9 single rolls. I went through 1 Fed box and found a single 1964 half and one 2005 keeper. In the 9 hand rolled singles I found 35 40%ers and a 1962 Ben Franklin. Thanks for the link & congratulations on your finds... But what I was wondering about were the 2001's & the 03 that wasn't suppose to make circulation, those were the ones I was wondering what they were worth.

nice finds! the 2001P halves are worth face becuase the not intended for circulation note in the redbook is a typo. as for the 2003 half, my dealer buys the nifc halves for 65 cents each.

They still get a small premium over face value on Ebay. Not too much more unless they are in the original U.S. Mint wrappers. Worth holding on to. Here's an example of the 2001 p and d mints single coins-
