The snow was flying this afternoon but I decided to give a spot I’ve pounded a shot anyway hoping the winter weather knocked down the weeds. When I arrived the snow was just starting to stick but just like I’d hoped the weather had the cheatgrass laying down. The field I checked has an old large stairway going down between two roads. I haven’t been able to get the coil near the stairs. Always overgrown with weeds, until today! Half way down the stairwell and a little off the side I get that sweet high tone and a 34/35 VDI. Check it in a couple directions and I’m 99% sure I’ve got a half! Pop the plug and then dig a little deeper and out comes my first Walker!
5 minutes and I’ve got silver! I left after about 10 minutes as the snow really started coming down and it was heavy wet sticky snow that was making swinging the coil difficult.
