The snow was flying this afternoon but I decided to give a spot I’ve pounded a shot anyway hoping the winter weather knocked down the weeds. When I arrived the snow was just starting to stick but just like I’d hoped the weather had the cheatgrass laying down. The field I checked has an old large stairway going down between two roads. I haven’t been able to get the coil near the stairs. Always overgrown with weeds, until today! Half way down the stairwell and a little off the side I get that sweet high tone and a 34/35 VDI. Check it in a couple directions and I’m 99% sure I’ve got a half! Pop the plug and then dig a little deeper and out comes my first Walker!

5 minutes and I’ve got silver! I left after about 10 minutes as the snow really started coming down and it was heavy wet sticky snow that was making swinging the coil difficult. 01391E6D-071C-40D8-8526-77EFAA35DF38.webp

Sweet!!! Congrats!!!

Possibly America's most beautiful coin. Congrats on a great find, one that still alludes me.

Thats awesome! Congratulations!

Congrats! What a way to start the hunt! That is a beauty!

Nice one! Congrats!:occasion14:

Sweet! Love these

Nice work, I got one 3 years ago and I think it's still my favorite dug coin.

I imagine my grandparents out on a walk enjoying a summer night stroll and my grandfather dropping this coin during that walk. They lived in that area in the 40’s. Coins really were beautiful back in the day. I wish the government would strike some new coins with beautiful works of art instead of the presidents on there.

Congrats, I think it was calling to you saying, "Come and get me!"

Nice big silver!! Nothing like seeing a silver half sticking out of your plug!!

One of the coolest looking coins we ever made and to get in such a quick hunt must have felt awesome!!! Question as a resident of Carson city do you have any greater chance of finding CC silver coins by living there?

Not bad for a 10 minute hunt. Congrats on your first Walker, and I hope many more follow !

Wondered the same thing when I was in CC years ago on business. Took the tour of the mint there, very cool place. They had samples of the gold and silver coins minted there. I believe the mint shut down once the silver mine dried up in Nevada.

Very nice silver find! :occasion14:

Congrats that's a great coin I've only have a few but love to find them. Well done my friend. Tommy
