Went out today to an old 1700 farm. Across from the main house I found all this stuff in a field. The war nickel was my first. A few wheats, spoon and clad dime. Then this round object. I thought it was a bottle at first. But it's metal. And was full of black powder. (My opinion that is). Any idea what it might be???

I can't see that being a powder flask because of the size/shape of the nipple end, but I am not an expert. I would guess that if it was brass then it could possibly be a baluster to a bed or something like that.

Looks like a brass finial to a fence/gate.
