Congrats on the first.I probably won't dig one of them for awhile.When I am CW Relic hunting
a place I go threw and dig only the good signals,I might go back one of these days and dig the
iron signals and see what goodies I left to rust more.(LOL)

You're not illiterate, just not into antique firearms. The artifact is actually called a "tow worm" or "patch worm" and is/was used to remove stuck cleaning patches from muzzleloading guns and for using unspun flax or "tow" to clean the bore.
