Fisher 1236x2 VS Tesoro cibola or Vaquero

Rob I mistakenly wrote 1270, but it's actually a cz-70. And it's a goodie. Fisher told me that the cz-70 is the deepest cz they have ever made, and they told me the truth.

When I run it with (ALL) targets notched in (in discrimination) it's meter goes deeper than any other detector I own on the salt/black sand beaches here. It still has big target alert and all the tones work well run that way. It ignores a lot of tiny crap and except for my one Compass it's the best overall detector I've ever seen. It can find a BB size nugget at 4", but the one Compass finds them at 6" easily, and sometimes at 7", beating even a Fisher GoldBug2.

I use the cz-70 most of the time. It has a real sweeeeet ground balance pot and it's super-easy to ground balance, about as easy as my Compass, maybe even easier. Both detectors have really fast SAT's but the cz feels a lot more stable and secure than most - due to it's man-sized grip and sturdy build. Cz's are built like a tank. A CZ-7 is another real good one for all-around work. I don't remember it having a built-in speaker, but on the beach few people will sneak up behind you anyway, so it's all good. The notched-in disc mode goes deeper than the all-metal mode on most Fishers and most Fishers aren't as chattery as some other machines. MY cz beats the Sov for depth easily, and it beats an SE or II also. It isn't a super cherry-picker like a Tesoro or Compass but it's sufficient for most work.

A Tesoro Silver uMax might have the fastest SAT made. The Tejon has one too, but it's a toughie to use in bad soil conditions.

The cz6, cz7, cz70 are all close to the same in this regard, but the 1270 can be a real challenge in highly mineralized soil, as will the Tejon, a near clone of the 1270. Both those detectors are running super-high gain for relic hunting purposes and have some real issues with ground balance in high salt, or high black sand soils..

If I were you I'd opt for a new Tesoro PI first, plus get a good deal on either a Silver uMax or a used cz-6, 7 or 70, especially the 7 or 70. All bases would be covered, even a little nugget hunting or tiny gold stud earring hunting, something most detectors pass over without even being heard.

Rad Shack sells both vibrators and bright, tiny, low-drain neon lights. You could easily mount both them on your search-rod near the grip. Real easy to mount. Good luck and HH

Wow... thanks for the scope. It sounds really good.I will look at the cz70 and tesoro PI.

I found the cz70 I think I will go with that one. I really like the duel Frequency.

Thanks A bunch.
