Fisher f2 coils

Hey guys what's up? I was wondering the fisher f2 coils which one finds the most deeper stuff? Which one finds the most stuff? The 4 sniper cool and the 8 coil? But of the coils comes with the detector along with a pinpointer in the package thanks!

For me it's public parks and playgrounds and I like to find the modern clad change and pull tabs and gold and silver jewelry. What coil is best for that? The 8inch or the 4inch?

It depends. If it is a trashy site than the 4" sniper coil. If it is not trashy and you require depth than the 8" should suffice.

You like to find pull tabs?
You are in the right hobby.

If you like to search around picnic pavilions, basketball courts, volleyball courts or any other super trashy areas like that use the sniper.
If you hit the wide open areas use the bigger coil.

Everything you mentioned you like to find is in abundance around those 3 areas I mentioned.
The most clad, the most silver rings, the most gold rings, the most chains of all kinds, silver gold and junk, and you will be happy to know the most pull tabs.
To find the most use the sniper coil for sure.
Several silver chains and rings and over 12 gold rings, chains and other golden targets made their way into my possession after I mounted and used that sniper coil at those areas.

The outfield of baseball fields are good for jewelry with less trash so the big coil works there, the fields of football and soccer fields can have jewelry and change lost by pick up players, the sidelines can have all that you look for too and usually that is a medium trash area so sniper coil.

I did every signal anyways. And today I went to the park and found a 1956 wheat penny great condition in the ground at 7 inches. With the 8" coil. I don't think it hit the first time when I went over it with the 4" coil or maybe I didn't go over it I'm not sure.

The 4" coil will not pick up targets at 7"....at least mine won't.

I contacted one of the most reputable sponsors on this forum with the exact same question and he was firm in his opinion that larger coils are simply not worth the $$$$. Instead he advised me I save up for a more advanced detector, which would give me much more bang for the buck.

If a house is built in 1895, is there supposed to be silver there? I detected my yard and found no silver just iron ALOT of iron!!!! btw I used the 8" coil.

Oh, of course not! I was just using that to show how most of the time, aftermarket coils are luxury accessories. They do add a little to the performance of the machine, but not enough to justify the cost. I mean, if you think about it, for the cost of the F2/pinpointer package and a $150 coil, one could get his/herself an F4. If you are deadest on attaining an aftermarket coil however, you could look around on eBay for a lightly used one. Same performance for a lot less.

As for the silver, it could be there but it might not be. Chances are there's at least one silver coin on the property, but there's really no way to know for sure.

Treasurehunter, it really depends on what your planned use is going to be. Crazy has a valid point with his comment, and Woof's search coils description page is search coil gospel! I will tell you from my own personal experience with the F-2 and different coils. My favorite coil is the NEL Sharp Shooter 9 1/2 x 5 1/2 it is bigger than the 4" offered and is a dd coil, and is smaller than the 11" offered by Fisher, so it fits the small semi trashy area's that I frequent with it. But this is the point I make, it is worth the extra money for a specialist to some degree, if that is what your up against for the style or type of search your doing. And in my case it made all the difference in the world. Coils really are just coils, so to say one is so much better than any other, really depends on the intended use with it. Take Dave's description page and run with it, and regardless of which coil you choose, take the time to learn how it works with your detector. Good luck!!
