So I was out today for the second time with my F5 detecting on a state park. I was in a dried up creek bed. My detector was constantly going off and calling out everything from zinc to quarters. I would try to use the pinpoint mode and it would go crazy throwing readings all over and tones. Nothing was legible. I used the phase set to zone out interference from the ground minerals etc. I would find a good hard hit, dig it, then it would move directly next to my dig site. I am new to this and have only gone out once before with it and was able to actually locate items but for some reason this detector is going crazy In sandy/gravel areas. I tried to take a pic of my settings so you guys and tell me what I'm doing wrong.
