Looking to upgrade my Teknetics Delta 4000. One feature I'm looking to add is the manual ground balance. In Louisiana, I don't have to worry about mineralized soil, per say, but I do make the occasional trip to the beach and I would like to start detecting there. I'll be sticking to the dry sand of course, from what I understand I would need a PI to really get in the wet stuff. And like I said, I only visit the beach so it's not that big of a deal.

Anyway, I'm leaning towards a unit with a few knobs vs. all button and menus, just a personal preference. I'm guessing these units probably run pretty close together, but any input on different strengths and weaknesses is appreciated. Does the additional $100 for the Omega get me anything significant?

Thanks, Tim.

Since you already have a Teknetics machine, I would recommend staying with Teknetics - easier learning curve. And possibly better ergonomics with the Teknetics. If I can answer any questions about the detectors for you, just PM me.
