Severe thunderstorm, tornado watch, high wind warning, flood warning and flash flood warning! I can't remember the last time we have FIVE warnings at one time.

All at one time! Joy! Power is still on and sump pumps in the basement are earning their keep!

But wait! There's more to come. Going to be a long night.

Stay safe. We just dodged a typhoon that hit DaNang central Vietnam.

Kick back, open a beer, and watch the Fords go by.....

Hang on smokey !!

Now 7 warnings but two are redundant. I'm high and dry but winds will kick up to 50 mph soon. Hope the power holds out. Sumps are still in overdrive.

Wish it had brought some rain here, im in Nonthaburi Thailand

Last winter and spring we had so much rain it killed most of the moles and yellow jackets in the ground!

Hang on Smokey, Smokey hang on! It went through us here this afternoon. All I got was a good rain and a little wind. But the temperature dropped from 87 at 3pm to 60 at 5pm. Supposed to get into the upper 30s before sunrise!

It will be 29 tomorrow night! Glorious for the digging season to begin. Add a tornado warning 60 miles east southeast of here. At least the rain is slowing down now.

So lucky we didn't have any trees down (on the house) or water inside and surprised we didn't lose electricity. Good luck all.

Smokey where at? I have my BS in Meteorology, and have chased/filmed tornadoes since before I could even drive. Dad would take us, then I started once I could drive, and have traveled all over the US for tornadoes, and pics of some amazing tornadoes, and lightning. I actually sold some of my lightning photos, and tornado photos.

First is Jay, OK tornado I intercepted at night, second is Linwood EF-4 that landed next to me, and got me a spot at Dupage University seminar on storm initiation, since I was the ONLY chaser who was there when it was born and chased it till it died, that monster half mile wide tornado almost sucked my new SUV into it when it landed 38 yards from me. The third is a shelf cloud in Milton, Kansas, and the very last is another night time tornado that briefly touched down on the outskirts of TULSA, out in Tulsa county, OK.

I have seen five tornados in my life all were in MARYLAND! Not exactly your first choice for tornados. It's now cold and bright and sunny. My furnace is running fan only and will dry the basement floor in a few hours so no mold will grow. The sumps got it all by the time it stopped raining, but some is scattered across the floor, not a lot but it got the concrete wet. No biggie. It will just take a day to dry it all out to prevent mold. No chemicals, just sit here and binge watch something and I'm good to go.

I’ve seen some very strange weather patterns this year, places who’ve never seen tornadoes have gotten them, as well as the amount of rain places across the US have gotten this year is astounding.

The good thing about where I live is that hurricanes just don't make it this far north as hurricanes but we do get just about everything else pretty regular. Truly hate the ice storms, they can really cause problems. we do have shelters for the tornadoes and they have and do hit here and all around. flash floods are constant here but they are short lived for the most part as the water runs downhill to everyone else. I live at the foot of the 2nd tallest mountain in Ark, it either helps or makes things worse. It seems that the hard boomers follow the edge of the mountain, knocking out everything in its path so we unplug stuff when the lightening starts. But, if you want to watch an awesome display of electricity, go up on top a tall mountain and watch a storm approaching, way cool.
