flag raising on the 4th

On July 3rd we installed a 4-foot deep, concrete, rebarred mount for a 25ft flagpole to be raised on the 4th. We had a few design problems but got it done. The first time we raised the flag we had pulley problems and had to uninstall the pole to untangle the rope and then reinstalled the pole. In the end, it turned out great!

The Pledge of Allegience was said by all at the gathering and the "G" word was used by all with no complaints. The guests ranged in ages 80-something all the way down to a 4-day-old. Plans for next year are already in the works. A band is a must next time and we have family members that play in bands that have already offered their talents. Should be bigger and better. May have to add an additional horseshoe pit.
