Today my wife informed me that she wants to make a sidewalk from the end of the shop to the house,
(I guess she is tired of the mud the dogs and I track in)
We jumped in the truck and were heading for the upper end of the Uncompagre Plateau and the Domingez flagstone quarries.

I changed my mind about this location about 50 yards from the turn and instead went straight to the Escalante Canyon turnoff. I know of some capsyone from that part of the country that comes off the top of the Morrisson Formation that is a type of flagstone made by fossilized mud. It has waves in it and I have always wanted to do something with some of it and figured this was my chance.

I got my flagstone and my wife will get the sidewalk. After what parts of me the blackflies ate off grow back. Was a fun afternoon all told, all the dogs got their share of cactus, the truck got a little more beat up, and I got home in time to barbeque ribs.

That is how I enjoyed Memorial Day.
However you all enjoyed yours...
I hope it was a great one!
