We just had the biggest flash flood that I can remember in my lifetime come through and couldn’t wait to get out to the creek! I went out last night but the water was still high on the rock bars but today was perfect! I had a good day!

Anyone have any idea what kind of blade that is? I’m in southern Illinois.

Nice in situs and beautiful colors on those.

And finally!!! One that even I can help identify! The little blade is definitely a guitar pick.

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

I've got a couple of blades like that, and always wondered if they were a combination tool, with one edge for cutting, the other for scraping. Those are some great finds in a good looking creek. I look forward to seeing what else comes out of there!

That bright yellow and bright pink point just about have to be Kaolin flint from near Iron Mtn. in Union Co. The pink one has been heated. Beauties. Gary

Very nice finds. Pretty sure there are some in the gravel bars too.

Kaolin is one of the few cherts that I can even sort of identify and I’d agree that’s what those two are. I’ve actually been to Iron Mountain and have seen the Kaolin littered all over the place. Beautiful material!
