Flask with a weird top

Found this old flask a while back and never really did find out much about it. I'm curious as to know if this was an attempt at a new type of closure or maybe a foreign flask. Liquor, medicine? Any thought or ideas?

Has a drip ring. Looks 1890 ish! Cool top. Still I think it was liquor for what thats worth. jgas
 

Seen it in amber as well, great looking flask Swiz...

Nice flask. With that little step inside the mouth, it probably took a cork-encased glass stopper.
 

Thanx guys, Someone mentioned that it could be 1920's because of the style glass n cork top that was similar to Worchestershire sauce. I was thinking 1880/90's based on its crudeness. Hard to say really. I'd love to see that amber one. Be sweet to have 2 side by side with the different colors.
