How big are they? Seem small and small crystals can be difficult to ID. Has there been wolframite finds in the area before?

They are pretty small Eu. Wolframite was mined a few miles away a 100 years ago. It came from pegmatite and these rocks did not. They came from a hydrothermal vein in a shear zone. Under a lens you can see the flat tabular structure better than the pictures. All the crystals in this vein are small as they must have cooled fairly quickly. Just curious if it's wolframite or something else.

Can't tell for sure. My gut is telling me something else. But without any tests, it's all speculation...

Not wolframite but a mineral that occurs in relation with that mineral it is all I can say at the moment. I have samples of the same material from Patagoinia AZ in a region known for wolframite and scepter quartz. Still have not figured it out myself but still digging. Your sample is very similar to my own. The redish crystal and tabular ones are all very small in my samples as well.

Do they have cleavage? Perhaps ferberite? They look monoclinic to me.
