Flat button and hotel tag

Had the day off so I went to the union cavalry site. I've had good look and experiences there. I got this Mississippi holiday inn tag ( in NC) and this early flat button, I can sort of make out the word orange on bottom.

That Tag looks pretty old - maybe call the Hotel chain and ask them when the stopped using that type of Tag.
I'd guess 1930's to maybe as late as the 1960's ?

Yeah it was 50s for that particular holiday inn in that town in Mississippi, no clue how it got in central NC

The Holiday Inn chain was founded in 1952. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites is located at 2106 US Hwy 72W in Corinth, Mississippi but wasn’t built until 1991 and now has a different telephone number. I found a tour being advertised in 1991 that named it just as ‘The Holiday Inn’, using the 601-286-6071 phone number on your tag.

But is it an actual key tag? Looks like a collar tag and got rivet holes. Obviously it's not for a collar

Yes, I would think for a key. The key would be attached by a ring at one end and (assuming it's blank on the other side) the other end would probably have had a disc attached with the room number stamped on it.
