Flint adze and scraper.

Heres a flint adze i found a couple years ago in ross county, ohio. really nice matrial not sure what type. and heres a flint end scraper i found along the scioto river in pike county, ohio.
it has a polished thumb hole on both sides is a real neat piece.

Two nice pieces Choo. On the scraper the place where your thumbs is very possibly, even likely, a thumb hole. However the polish you see is due to polishing of the original cobble by wind, water, etc. It's the original surface of the stone as it looked before it was knapped. They're both very nice pieces.

The Adze is a nice example.......................
The chert Axe and Adze in the Ozarks are very common find do to the fact of heavy use of them for Tree cutting and shaping.........
They are more commonly found here used up-then a person could find broken points....................
I have a few good Chert Adze............................I think they are more common in the Ozarks then any where else for the reason many Adze,Axe,Celts were made from Hardstone................
I'am not sure about your area..................................
I see the Gibson points we both have....................and not alot of difference!
So are the Chert Adze rare there...............or is the more common type lithic Hardstone
