Any information is very welcome.
It has not seen much daylight in about 45 years, I found it in the bottom of an old wooden chest.
I unfortunately could not bring it home with me so only have these 2 photo's.
Thanks for the help.

Hello Roma,

Welcome to TNet, and thanks for showing your fancy pistol. I'd encourage you to post it in the What Is It? forum. There are some very savvy firearms folk there.

I don't believe it is a flintlock, but what they call a percussion pistol. It looks of a style I've seen called a "Muff Pistol" I'd guess a Lady's weapon...

This would be a flintlock muff pistol:

Thank you, I will put it on the what is it forum.
Percussion pistol... never heard of that type before.

Sorry cannot look for proofmarks as I do not have it here with me. I will see it again in a couple of months.

ok...I would lean towards it being a german made weapon...between 1860 an 1900...

until one finds a signature, or proof marks...nothing definitive from me.

good luck.
