Hello! A few days ago i came across this piece of flint while arrowhead hunting on the eastern shore of Maryland. It's obviously been worked to some degree. I did some research and it looks similar to a piece of flint used in flintlock firearm's. Does anyone have any insight on what this could be? Photo May 12, 1 27 27 PM.webp

It looks like a flintlock stone to me.

The only amber colored flint in my inexperienced knowledge despite breaking and wearing boughten flints in guns ,( including not knowing what type flint is available in the area of your recovery or nearby) , is imported French amber.

French flint from Gran Pressigny region. Distinctive amber color. Good stuff. Gary

Nice find, and welcome to the forum! :icon_thumleft:

That looks like a gun flint to me. As others said it also looks like it may be imported French material. I like it.
