couldn't ever figure out what the strange leg on yours was. Following your lead on a flintlock, I found this model pistol evidently referred to as a boxlock. I don't believe it's the same manufacturer, but it's the same type pistol evidently. I think this would make yours probably the oldest gun part I've ever seen posted. Hope this helps...... Ambrose Antique Guns, Antique Firearms, Guns, Firearms, Antique Weapons, Antique Arms & Antique Armor, Antique Armour--A FINE ENGLISH ALL-BRASS FLINTLOCK EPROUVETTE/POWDER-TESTER, by “SHARPE”, ca. 1780

** well technically not a pistol

That is the strangest pizza cutter gun I've ever seen.C'mon you know everybody thinks it looks like a pizza cutter.:tongue3:The most unique gun I have ever seen I wonder what the purpose of some of the attachments were for.

Hah! I was going to guess tinder lighter. The foot on this threads piece is not like tinder lighters though.

Good call on powder tester!

It's not a gun, it's a gunpowder tester. The wheel has numbers around it, which I would assume that when fired would gauge the strength and effectiveness of the powder's explosiveness much like an air gauge you would use when checking your tires

Loving this thread, extremely cool find. I bet you could search for several lifetimes and never find another. A great ID as well!

Super find Kiros, congrats!

Probably rarer than a firearm. I guess something like this would come in handy if you made powder or were a powder merchant. Banner!

Best wishes and good luck!
