What a trip! Purely enjoyable! Didn't really find jack, but I'd take a day on the beach any day without finding a target! 8) I enjoy being in the water more than anything and 95% me detectin was in the water. Didn't recover as much in the water than me would have in the sand but that's just me preference, the water! 8)
My wife swears she laid me speedo on top of the beach towels prior to packing. Upon arrival in Naples, no speedo to be found. When we arrived back home on the 29th, no speedo to be found. I believe the TSA guys while opening me bag and examining me scoop etc. somehow the speedo got out of the bag and didn't get back in! Needless to say, speedo's aren't so popular in swim shops!
So I had to settle with wearin me runnin shorts each day on the beach!
Wednesday, Oct 25, we slept in late enough to miss breakfast that morning! I detected Naples pier vicinity for 2 hours till noon. From noon to 3, we got out of the sun and drove around, driving to Marco Island. Marco Island seemed like a rather exclusive type community. I detected Marco Island Beach and we took in the sunset.
Thursday, Oct 26, me birthday! 8) We drove to Fort Lauderdale. I found a beautiful women's watch. It has small diamonds around the face bezel and it was still tickin!
At noon we went to Sawgrass Mills Mall and shopped till I felt like droppin!
That afternoon me detected South Miami Beach, Art Deco District, around 10th. street. Lots of babes out there! 8) Didn't have trouble keepin me head up! What a way to celebrate a birthday!
Friday, Oct 27. Went back to Naples Pier and detected for a couple hours then we drove up the coast to Fort Myers Beach. In a store next to the beach I did find a Speedo on the sale rack, however it was only a 32
We watched the sunset on Fort Myers Beach.
Saturday, Oct 28. We packed up and left Naples driving up 75 to Tampa. It was rainy
Heavy rain
We drove the blvd. from St. Pete's Beach to Clearwater. Winds were gusty to 30 +. It was down right chilly. People on the beach were fully clothed, some in sleeping bags
Too damn cold, we skipped the sunset and went to the Hard Rock Casino, Tampa before retiring to Plant City.
Sunday, Oct 29. Me got up earlier that morn than any other and was on St. Pete's Beach detected at 8 am. While on the beach I met a guy detectin with an excalibur 1000. He had found more coins in 2 hours than I had found in 4 days!
He told me conditions change so much in the water and on the beach from day to day.
Checked the car in at 2 pm and and back in misery (i mean missouri) at 7 pm.
I had communicated with several about possible meet-up to detect but schedules, time resistants, etc, etc, got in the way
Let's do it the next time! 8)
