Found this at an old site. It is the same diameter as the Indian head penny, but thicker like a fatty IH. It has two holes drilled through on opposite angles. Not straight through, maybe a 45 degree angle? I think I have seen these before? Looks like I can see a wreath on the not so great detail. What do you think?

Hey Mike,

Go over it with your detector again. Does it come up like a "STANDARD" Indianhead? Or does it come up lower like a nickel?

I found a copper-nickel variety (1860-1864) Indianhead that came up lower like a nickel.

The fatter ones usually come up lower than Standard Injuns.

If it comes up lower than its probably most likely an 1860-1864 Indianhead as the Flying Eagles I believe are copper or bronze so they should both sound much better.

Just an idea if you didnt already try it.

I see the "wreath" you're talking about but I don't think it is a coin. At least not an IH or a Flying Eagle. Could it be a button? I think I've seen buttons with angled holes like that.
