Got this at an estate sale for $1. Diamond checked out to be real and the gold is 1/20 10kt. My questions is what does FM stand for? I was talking to the lady running the sale and she said this was given out to employees of a company for a certain amount of years of service. But I don't remember the company she said... So any help is great, Thanks.

Ford Motors? The do a lot of commemorative jewelry items. Just a guess though.

I'll look into it, thanks.

Also, the piece with the diamond and FM may be a solid gold-not gold filled- like 10k. Does it look pitted under magnification like the band?

They're both stamped 1/20 10k

Farmers mutual?

Is just the square piece on top of the oval piece marked? It looks different, smoother. Hoping it's not gold filled :)

The square part has to be gold. The rest is gold filled. If you break that gold part off with the diamond, I bet its marked 10k or 14k under it. I get a fair amount of gold this way. From Kirby Vacuums to power companies. I'm going to look at that picture again, but it looked real from here.

Yeah, the oval part is marked gold filled. The square part is separate. It's real gold. Either acid test it to get the K value, either 14 or 10k. But that part is real gold.

Awesome, I just need to figure out the FM part and I'll list it. I definitely didn't know that part was gold. I found it odd a diamond would be in 10k GF haha.

Here is my tie clip from the 1960s, it is gold filed, but the hexagon is clearly marked 10k. HH
