Folks,

Did a hunt at a nearby park and was only finding modern coins and junk....I got a bit bored so dropped the sensitivity and did a sweep along the sidewalk near some overhead wires.

Got a decent copper/silver signal with a bit of scratchiness mixed in and figured there could be a couple of finds in the same hole...sure enough about 6" down dug a British Vickie penny and still got another signal when sweeping over the hole and sure enough there was a rusted nail in the same hole.

It pays to dig the iffy signals.

Regards + HH

Is it still wet in this photo? The detail seemed to stand out more for me in the first pics. ...But then I'm about to fall over tired!! I think my brain was ticketed for being double parked! :laughing7:

Yes, iffy signals have been some of my best finds. That's why I keep banging on about not digging numbers. Good tip.

Cru,

So true I've found silver and gold chains that gave off scratchy signals and many silver coins which gave only a one way signal because they were on edge.

Using that approach helps you make finds that others or yourself missed.

Nice coin! Totally agree with you on the iffy signals. I've made some of my best finds pursuing them. Congrats!

Congratulations on saving the nice penny
I have pulled silver coins out of plugs that were partially masked by iron. One of my machines, that has an exceptional ability to do that is the E-trac.
