Who would have turned 70 years old today. Better known as John Denver
I was 2 nights in Ouray up in the San Juan's this week. Not sure the country boy would have thought much about me standing on the edge of a mine tailings to get a shot of that high peak, but I sure enjoyed his music. I took these pictures yesterday afternoon. This morning its all together a darker sky. A storm is moving in and its predicted to be a Doozy.

Don.......
Rocky Mountain High is the 2nd official Colorado state song. The 1st is "Where the Columbines Grow" adopted in 1915. I remember years back, some Nam vets coming back would comment on how they loved John Denver's, song "Take me home , Country roads" It sure is a beautiful song. He was a great artist of those times.

I agree.

Thank you for your service Don:award_star_gold_3:, For sure you witnessed the very pivotal turning points in our country in those years. I hope you have a few memories of those times you can hold dearly in your heart. I'm younger, but do remember the advices given to me by those great folks from those days.
