If possible, get a small DD coil with your Explorer.
It makes learning it so much easier.
I have the 6 inch Excelerator DD and it's smooth!
If you can't afford a new II or SE, consider the XS which is still a bargin.
The XS in excellent condition with the latest update can be had for about $600.
The depth is the same as the II and SE.
