Found this peculiar looking thing near a creek a while back. I have tried to figure out just what it might be. I really have no good guess honestly. As you can see one side has a nodule of some sort attached to it. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have on this item. Thanks! :)

I've found things like this - I don't know what they are though. Usually by riverbeds. I like 'em!

These are two of the ones I found :) I'm such a "serious" person - I call them belly-button rocks!

Cool!! Thanks for posting these! LOL! Now I can call this my 'belly button' rock, haha. Very good. :) No need to be serious, or too serious anyway. Yeah, i am at a loss on these. I am leaning for toward plant rather than animal, but, it could be just a freak formation. Eventually, I will take some of my things down to the U of I for id.

I'm going to go with concretion. Doesn't mean its not a fossil, but just research concretions, a lot of things can happen to make something like that.

I am open to all possibilities RiverWalker :) Thank you for commenting!

Yeah, looked up a whole bunch of concretion pictures, and yes, they are strangely varied. Hmm, pretty cool! :)
