Hi folks.....newbie on the forums.
Not my Forte but found THIS in a disturbed riparian area here in Southern California.
Pardon me please as I had no scale available at photo time. For reference , my hand is about the size of President Trump's.
The thing has nodes on the outside, appears calcified sedimentation on a horizontal plane inside and still partially filled with loose ,rounded river sand.
At this time the estimated dimensions are 6.5"X4.25" and weighs appx 1.5 lbs.

Seen anything similar ?
Thanks.

Not a fossil but a sandstone concretion most likely calcite has bound the sand together. Kind of like a mud ball only it looks much cooler. :)

I am not familiar with it but that would hold a place in my garden........
