fossils in hardened clay

digging some post holes today.....the ground turned to clay and about 2 feet deep started hitting rock.....had to bust some of it out and some of it was smaller in size....got to looking at some of the rocks and they are covered in these little fossils.

Looks like fragments of crinoid stems. Do a web search on the geology of your area and I bet you'll get some good info.

Thats so cool. I find those little fossils but never seen where they come from. Indians seemed to like them too as ready made beads. Nice find in those post holes

Looks like there's also an Archimedes bryozoan (the big spiral thing).
