found 10/6 + 10/7

hi,
made it to the beach early on sat (10/6) and got a 1.7g 14k wedding band.
Later sat morning we went up to the lake where my son lives. I got my first lake gold there - a .7g 10k earing.
On sun. i tried the lake again and got 2 silver earings - 1.7g + 1.5g
Mon just yielded junk earings and the usual tabs, caps, etc.
today (tue) we went to see greenwich, Connecticut - a waste of time.
Will be going home tomorrow + am looking forward to getting into the salt water.
I have been fortunate enough to have detected 5 gold rings and 1 palladium ring (no silver or junk rings yet!) - hope the pixies don’t change their ways!

Hey, great finds! Did you snag them in the water or on the beach? What was the name of the lake where your son lives? Did you hunt at Greenwich beach ,Connecticut or just look it over? Thanks for posting. Joe

i found them in the water. since i have been doing the water i have found it so much more profitable. the problem is that the water is soooo much harder then the dry sand.
yet, i will be doing (weather + temp permitting) only water detecting. my sand shark is great for depth but not grear at pinpointing - i have to work very hard with it since it goes so deep + covers a wide area with it's loud tone. like any other detector you need time to learn your machine - which i am working on.
oh - a ps - my jeweler told me the ring that i thought was palladium - it is silver of european descent - not 925 but 800 - that is why it did not read as silver on my acid test. oh well - it could've been junk!

no, i did not detect at greenwich - it was a wife's time out. we ate at a french resturant/bakery that sucked on the main drag - oh well - have to keep the wife happy!
