Good start, congratulation!

Sweet, but I am the button king. This year I have over 150. I would like to see the coins.

Nice way to break into the 1700s with that KG copper! Great stuff. Buttons are a great sign, and some of them can be valuable.

how can u find out if your buttons r valuable??? because i have have few hundred flat buttons with gold on them

Would love to see the detail of the one on the far left side of your hand....

Nice coins, can you read what is on the pin?

They had congregations in that area back in the 1700's... could be that old.. hard to tell...

BK, the gold remaining on buttons was a plating known as gilt. There is such a small amount of gold that it would not affect the value. What can affect the button is the rarity of the button. Usually plain front buttons have no real value, but one with designs can have value. Early campaign buttons or inauguration buttons, and many military buttons can command hundreds of dollars. There are a few good books available as reference including Albert's Record of American Uniform and Historic Buttons and Tice's Uniform Buttons of the United States, 1776-1865.

Here is a rare War of 1812 Sheffield Plated infantry 15th Regiment officer's button I found lastmonth. I love finding buttons!
