Found 2 civil war tokens and 2 IH"s today, in Ohio

Hi all,
Well my partners and I went Old one room school house hunting
today. At the first one I almost struck out. I only found a Model T
Hub cap. My buddies found an old horse token and a couple of IH's.
We had a newbie with us and of course you know what they always do,
they find the best finds. The newbie found a small child's ring in the
field his first time out.

Went to another one room school house site and right out of the car
I got a hit. I said to the other guys, well I'll dig the first beer can, the
signal was loud. It was a civil war token from 1863 with the words R D Norris
Dry Goods 174th Fifth St. An Indian on the front. I then found another Civil War
Token some sort of a face on the front and Union for Ever on the back dated 1863
also. Found 2 IH's both dated 1880. One of my partners found 4 IH's dated 1862,1863
and 1865 and 1903. My other partner found an IH but I don't have the date, he also
found several nice belt buckles.

All in all we had a really cold wonderful day.

Thanks for all your comments. I live in NW Ohio near Lima, Ohio. We have hunted
this site almost every year and it still gives up goodies. I just love it when a farmer
plows a field. Strange thing about it, I found one token right beside my car and my
hunting partner, who was not using a ACE 250 like me, he was using another High Price
brand, went over the same area just before I hunted there and he didn't find anything.
I went back there because I had found one token there, so I thought there might be
more, low and behold I dug up another token and two more steps and I found a
IH laying right on top of the ground. Needless to say my partner wasn't to happy with
me.

Well HH all, hope your day was as good as mine today. I'm gonna post my finds for

That is my kind of hunt, congrats to you all. I always figured those one room schoolhouses were hunted out by now. I guess I better start taking them more seriously. Here in southwestern OH they're every where and some have been converted into homes and businesses. I really like the civil war merchant token.
