Water is still high and cloudy but I looked anyway after the big flood we just had. Most were in the water grubbing but the tiny triangle was in the gravel. I thought it was a chip and picked it up anyway. Found some broken ones to.
NW Georgia
Super day for you!

That triangle may be a touched-up, impacted tip. A spoke-shave on the 3rd pic & hafted knife on the 1st I'd say. I would be happy with that for sure!

I found a nice quartz point but the pictures came out blurry. As I picked it up to admire it I noticed the tip was gone. Another broke for the pile 😃

You have done better this Hunt than I have done all year (I've only been once). Nice finds 👍
I’m tired of grubbing for them I’m ready for the rain to let up.
What’s funny is I looked back on some of my past posts from years ago and I complained about the rain back then to, ha ha

It’s possible on the triangle it’s thicker on the other side but worked on all sides. I’ve found end scrapers made from broken tips before. Woodland period believed in reworking most everything that could be reused.

Still need several feet of rain around here to catch up for last year been slow going with the surface hunting with no water to do work on the soil. I like the squatty black one.

Thanks I haven’t looked it up yet the triangle is a Hamilton and other Spokeshave which I don’t find often. These in the area have been Woodland mostly but have been all the way to Early Archaic and maybe Late Paleo. I wish I could send you a few feet of water. It was almost 4 feet deep

You’re definitely on top of the leaderboard lately. Really enjoying the show. Work has kept me too busy. Can’t complain though.
Keep ‘em coming!!!

Any idea on materials?
I find a lot of the same material Tennessee has plus Ridge and Valley cherts. The black and white can be Knox or R and Valley. I’m going to show some quartz points next. I still have a few frames to show. I’ve been busy looking and finding over the past few years. I missed the field walking last June with the heatwave we had maybe this year I can look. They are selling more property off I don’t even know if the farmers will plant out there this year. I’m probably going to be losing more places to look soon.

I am glad that you are still out hunting and finding stuff and back posting. New screen name too! Hope you do have a great season always enjoyed your finds.

Thanks, I still have some other artifacts to share. I’ve gotten a pretty good collection now. Not all are pretty unfortunately. Good to hear from you

Ditto. If we all found perfect ones it would be kinda boring. 🤣 You say that the black material is knox chert? I think you are correct on that.
