Found a 1.16 ct rough diamond today!

Went to Crater of Diamonds state park today and found a 1.16 carat brown diamond! Was very cool to see it in the screen. Definitely stood out clear as day. Going to head back tomorrow and try to find another one!!!

Thanks everyone! Turns out it’s fairly rare to find one over a carat. Went today and didn’t find anything. Did see a guy find one that was 0.15-0.20 carats, somewhere in there. As to value I really don’t know. The guys at the park said the small diamonds sell for $20 a point (There are 100 points per carat) and that larger diamonds like this one can go for $35-40 a carat. But I don’t know if that’s a realizable price, retail, dream land or whatever but it does seem like it’s worth at least $1,500 or more Who knows. Obviously I have no interest in selling but ‘value’ is still interesting.
