Found a 1691 Spanish cob with a Lima mint mark and a "R" assayers mark. Found in a corn field in central virginia. Go figure. Any idea on value?

Not much value but priceless to you. Great job!!

Dulce! About 300 years ago somebody had a very bad day when they lost that nice coin - and now you've had a very good day finding it!

Good luck to all,

The Old Bookaroo

Very nice find, congratulations! :occasion14:

Nice find, a farm field is actually where I would expect it.

Congrat's, Thumper! That's a helluva find!! They certainly don't come around everyday!

Iowa Dale

Great find! Spanish silver was legal tender here for 250 years so it's not as rare a find as I once thought but still,,, a killer find. How often does anyone find something from the 1600's? Congratulations.

That's a very nice coin.

If you follow todays finds, then you will see lots of 17th C Spanish, & some French, even some English hammered from the 16th C. (Mostly from the East coast, some from Canada)

That’s a beauty cob Thumper. Congrats on a nice winner coin.

Still looking for one of those earlier Spanish...seen them dug right in front of me..
